Seated in a field of flowers
Who grow taller everyday
Moving only slightly
With the wind and rain
Also toward sunlight
Around the tallest plants' shade
Expanding up to heaven
Silently she prays
She watches the skyline
Meld blue and gray
Unaware of the immense darkness
Beyond the brightest shades
jealousy and ignorance often go hand in hand...I see someone praying for success, jealous of what she sees around her, but she is ignorant of their background and the price they have had to pay. Therefore she will never get anywhere, and she will never be content.
ReplyDeletePlease tell me if what I'm doing here is annoying. I just really enjoy analysing your poetry, and I hope I'm not too far fetched in my interpretations :)
I enjoy your analysis. It's very insightful. I was trying to paint a setting with this one and I think your opinions are good ones. I was hoping the interpretation could be debated in a number of ways. The inspiration was a story I read about an Indian guru who covers his students with dirt and seeds to see if they sit still enough while meditating for days on end for anything to grow. If the seeds don't sprout, they moved whole meditating.
ReplyDeletearen't we all hoping that our poetry will inspire numerous interpretations debate? I know, I am! And I am more than willing to discuss yours...
