The Sky Began to Move

The sky began to move
Creating a stream of light
Tracing and smearing the stars
Into one another
Expanding the moon
Into a misshapen orb
Dimming the black depth of space
The heavens reappeared
When colliding comets
Settled into cosmic dust
New colors and new shapes emerged
On the blotted figments of old
