Gone and soon forgotten

Lost in his focus
He finds a hidden secret
Imagined, implied, inside
As the seams unravel
A soft glow of travel
Stumble, crawl, and hide
Love's unpleasant burden
Hatched from binding focus
As it clots and bleeds inside
Unseen for a moment
Awakened from a coma
Nowhere for a spirit to hide
Where beliefs and uncanny thoughts
Checkered patterns swirl then gone
The bold lights flicker, blind
They revel in the animal he hides
Gone and soon forgotten
A promised land awaiting
His luxuries forsaken
At the gallows where they take him
